Visitor Identification Disclosure
Last updated 11 September 2026
Websites using the Helix leads module may identify the organisation a visit came from, and — only where you have accepted that site's consent notice — may enrich the visit and suggest a contact profile at that organisation. This page explains exactly what that means, because it is a capability people are right to ask about.
What is collected
When you visit a site running Helix visitor identification, we may process the network address of your connection, the pages you view, timestamps, referring source (such as an ad click or an organic search) and general device information, so the site owner can see the journey a visit took.
The network address is matched against databases that map address ranges to organisations, and where a match is found we may add publicly available firmographic information such as industry, size and location.
Where you have accepted the site's consent notice, we may further enrich the visit with business data sources and suggest a contact profile at the identified organisation whose role matches the buying signals observed. This enrichment never runs for visitors who have declined or not been shown a consent choice.
What is not collected
Without your consent, we do not identify individual people from anonymous traffic. We do not learn your name, your email address or your job title from a visit alone, and any suggested contact profile is a best-match indication for the site owner to verify, not a confirmed identity. We do not read form contents you have not submitted, and we do not track you across unrelated websites.
Most residential and mobile connections cannot be resolved to an organisation at all.
Why it is used
So that the business whose site you visited can understand which types of organisation are researching them, score the visits that look like genuine buying intent, and prioritise follow-up with organisations already in a sales conversation. It is a prioritisation signal, not a purchased contact list.
Retention
Identification records are retained for the period the site owner configures, and no longer than 24 months. Site owners are encouraged to set the shortest period that serves their purpose.
How to opt out
Email hello@helixcmo.com with the domain you visited and we will suppress identification for your organisation across sites running Helix. Standard browser privacy controls, VPNs and tracking protection also reduce or prevent identification.
Site owner obligations
Customers using this module must publish a disclosure of this kind, honour opt-outs, establish a lawful basis where their jurisdiction requires one, and use the data only for the purposes set out here. These obligations are part of the terms of service.
